Carrying on with our Women's Health Support series...
Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine can provide excellent support for women through all phases of the female life cycle.
Here are 3 more ways it can support Women’s Health
Overall Health and Wellbeing
Overall health & wellbeing is critical to optimal health. We look at your health holistically to reach an accurate diagnosis and treatment. Living in a fast-paced world we’ve all become very good at activating our stress response (fight or flight) to help keep up with work, families and life. Unfortunately, if under constant stress our body finds it difficult to switch into the opposite parasympathetic (rest, digest and ovulate) response. If this becomes a continuous pattern our body becomes less efficient at recovering and healing which can lead to health issues.
We use acupuncture to help support healthy digestion, restore sleep patterns, reduce pain, boost energy and uplift moods as a foundation to our treatments. Improving these areas goes a long way to supporting specific issues within women’s health.
Acupuncture has been used for thousands of years to help regulate and support healthy menstruation. Conditions we see frequently in the clinic include PMS symptoms, painful periods (dysmenorrhoea), irregular cycles, absent periods (amenorrhoea), heavy bleeding (menorrhagia) and spotting.
When supporting menstrual issues we take a detailed history of symptoms specific to your menstrual health as well as general health. We then come up with a treatment plan and track improvements over at least 3 cycles - looking for gradual improvements in symptoms as well as overall health.
Perimenopause and menopause affect women in different ways. There are common symptoms such as hot flushes, dizziness, insomnia and mood changes that can impact a woman’s quality of life. Depending on the severity of symptoms and other contributing factors Acupuncture and Chinese medicine may provide excellent support during this phase.
If you would like to try acupuncture for a women’s health issue, bookings can be made online. Our Practitioners will work closely with you and discuss your diagnosis and treatment plan.
