Lower Limb

(knee pain, ankle pain, foot pain)

conditions-lower-limb.png

The knee, ankle and foot are closely related with tendons and muscles running through all three areas. Not only do these parts of the leg have to help move, but also reduce impact and protect your body. The complex nature of the relationships between these joints is important to movement and when something goes wrong, it can be painful and stop you in your tracks.

Knee pain can come from ligament or cartilage damage, especially from high impact sports. It can also very commonly come from tightness in one of the many muscles that act over the joint.

Ankle and foot pain rarely stays in the joints and can move into the Achilles, calves and the Plantar Fascia. Treating all three areas is important to ensure no stone is left unturned when figuring out how this happened and ensuring it doesn’t happen again.

Common conditions of the lower limb that we treat include:

  • Ligament strain

  • Osgood Schlatter’s

  • Achilles tendinopathy

  • Muscle strain

  • Rolled ankles

  • Osteoarthritis

  • Dislocations

  • Plantar fasciitis
